Iwaizumi Town

The town of Iwaizumi is located in the east-central part of Iwate Prefecture and is home to Ryusendo Cave, a nationally designated natural monument that can be counted among one of the three most famous limestone caves in Japan, as well as natural tourist areas such as Hayasaka Highlands Prefectural Natural Park and Rikuchu Kaigan National Park.
In addition to Ryusendo Cave water and Ryusendo Cave coffee, both of which won a World Highest Quality Award at the 'Monde Selection' International Food Olympics, the town also offers a wealth of wild local produce such as sansai (edible wild plants) and mushrooms.
In line with its drive for 'local production for local consumption', Iwaizumi continues to nurture its people and develop local businesses and amenities while maintaining a respectful balance between people, culture and nature.
